Becky Brown Named Ivy League Player of the Week
Scored Three Goals In Victory Over Sacred Heart
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The season is only four games old, but Yale junior forward Becky Brown is already having a career year. On Monday, Brown's efforts were rewarded as she was named the Ivy League Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Columbia's Sophie Reiser. In the Bulldogs' 7-0 victory over Sacred Heart last Thursday, Brown scored three goals, all in the first half.
She now has six goals on the season, one more than she scored in 17 games last year. After assisting on Leslie Perez's goal which gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead, Brown scored the next three goals in a 15-minute stretch to turn the game into a rout. Her three goals came on her only three shots of the game.
Brown and her teammates return to action on Wednesday night, when they host Stony Brook at 7 p.m.
