Kickoff Is Set For 7 p.m. At Reese Stadium

Quinnipiac at Yale, Tuesday – 7 p.m.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale women's soccer fans will have the opportunity to see one of the most underrated and talented players in the nation on Tuesday when local-rival Quinnipiac visits Reese Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Bobcat midfielder/forward Fortuna Velaj has a very interesting background and was recently featured on ESPN.com where Graham Hays selected her as one of the players who will have a great deal of say as to how this season unfolds across the country. So far this year she has scored two goals and last year led the Bobcats with 19 points.

Quinnipiac (0-2-1) hasn't played since a 1-0 loss at Hartford last Thursday.

Yale, on the other hand, will be playing its third game in five days. The Bulldogs lost a pair of one goal decisions to Big East foes Rutgers (1-0) and St. John's (2-1) over the weekend. Freshman Melissa Gavin was selected to the Ivy League Honor Roll on Monday. She scored Yale's goal against St. John's and also assisted on the tying goal last Tuesday against Sacred Heart.

The teams last played in 2009, a 1-0 Bulldog victory. Mary Kubiuk scored her first career goal in the win. Yale is 8-0 all-time against the Bobcats.
