Kickoff Slated For 7 p.m.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team takes a break from Ivy League play to travel to Fairfield on Tuesday. Kickoff at Lessing Field is slated for 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (5-4-2) are coming off an important 4-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday. Four different players scored. Enma Mullo and Melissa Gavin led the way with a goal and an assist apiece. Gavin was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her efforts. The four goals were the most Yale has scored in a game against the Big Green since 1987.
Duplicating that offensive output against the Stags will be difficult. Fairfield (3-5-3) has yet to allow more than two goals in a game this season. The Stags are coming off a 1-0 loss to Iona on Saturday. The Gaels scored the only goal with five minutes left in the second half. Fairfield had a 13-2 edge in shots in the second half.
Yale and Fairfield are playing for the first time since 2006. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 8-2-1 and have won the last four games.
