Seeking First Ivy Win
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team continues its three-game Ivy League road stretch Saturday at Dartmouth. Kickoff at Burnham Field is slated for 4:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (5-5) are in need of a victory after opening Ivy League play with one-goal losses to Princeton and Harvard. Fortunately there is still time left to get back on track, and Yale has fared well against Dartmouth in recent years. The Bulldogs beat the Big Green 4-1 last year at Reese Stadium and have won the last four meetings.
A big reason for that success has been the play of senior Kristen Forster, who has at least one point in each of her three games against Dartmouth. Forster also is enjoying a strong senior season. She leads the team with five goals and 13 points. Muriel Battaglia is next with three goals.
Like Yale, the Big Green (6-4, 1-1 Ivy) has lost two straight close game, falling 2-1 at Princeton last Saturday and then dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 20 Pepperdine on Monday. Chrissy Lozier (six goals) and Emma Brush (five goals, three assists) are the main offense threats for Dartmouth. Tatiana Saunders has started all 10 games in goal and has a 0.89 goals against average.
