Scored Game-Winning Goal Vs. Marist
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Saje Brar's first career goal was pretty important. It helped the Bulldogs earn a 1-1 draw at Colgate on Labor Day. Brar, though, made her second tally even more meaningful. It was the game-winning goal, coming with just over six minutes left in the second half, as Yale edged Marist 3-2 at Reese Stadium. Those two strong performances have earned Brar her first career honor. She has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Brar played a role in two of Yale's three goals in the win over Marist. She sent a perfect corner kick into the box that Noelle Higginson was able to finish. That goal tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half.
Brar, who was selected to the Canadian national U20 ID camp at the age of 16, has appeared in four games for the Bulldogs this fall.
In addition to Brar's honor, sophomore Ciara Ostrander, who scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 1-0 win at Fordham was named to the Honor Roll.
The Bulldogs, who are unbeaten in their last three games, host LIU Brooklyn on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Reese.
