NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Maggie Westfal, who leads Yale with 19 points, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I second team. Westfal, a political science major, is second in the Ivy League in points and tied for second in goals with eight.
She is one of only five players to start all 15 games and has scored in eight different games. Four of her goals have been game-winners, including one in overtime against Harvard which helped her earn Ivy League Player of the Week honors.
Yale is 3-2 in Ivy League play and tied with Harvard and Brown for third place. Penn and Princeton, who play Saturday night in Philadelphia, share the lead at 4-1. The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, hosting Brown at 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
