NEW HAVEN, Conn. – There may be a foot of snow everywhere in New Haven but those tiring of a very snowy winter can take comfort in knowing that the 2011 Yale softball season is less than two months from kicking off. If the weather cooperates, the Bulldogs will play 46 games, including 20 at Dewitt Family Field.

Yale returns to the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla., to start the season. The Bulldogs will face Loyola (Ill.), La Salle, Florida A&M, Eastern Kentucky, Lehigh, Detroit-Mercy, Wagner, Holy Cross, Hartford and Rider.

Bryant comes to New Haven for the first time for the home opener on Mar. 19. Yale also is home for its last tune-up before the start of Ivy League play, facing Fairfield on Mar. 30.

A trip to Cornell on Aprils Fools Day kicks off the 20-game Ivy schedule. The next day the Bulldogs are at Princeton. Penn and Columbia are the South Division teams that will come to Yale.

North Division play starts with a four-game home series with Dartmouth on Apr. 16-17. The Bulldogs travel to Harvard for four games on Apr. 23-24 and then conclude league play with a home-and-home series with Brown. Senior Day at Dewitt Family Field is Apr. 29 against Brown. The teams meet again the next day in Providence to conclude the campaign.

The Bulldogs return 12 letterwinners from last year's team that finished 11-28 overall and 6-14 in the Ivy League.
