Bulldogs Had 15th Best Team GPA In Division I
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team has been selected a 2010-11 All-Academic team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Bulldogs had a team grade point average of 3.404, the 15th best in all of Division I softball.
The NFCA Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2010-2011 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during last academic year are named as a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. The individual honorees will be announced on Wednesday, October 5 on NFCA.org.
The Bulldogs also had success on the field, winning 17 games, setting a school record with 64 doubles and also finishing with an all-time best .290 team batting average.
