Yale To Host Clinic Sunday, Mar. 2
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale softball team will host a Pitching/Infield/Outfield/Hitting Clinic inside Coxe Cage on Sunday, March 2 open to girls ages 8-18 years old. The pitching/infield/outfield sessions run from 10 a.m. to 11:30, while the hitting session is from noon to 2 p.m.
Pitching Session: Hall of Fame Pitcher and Yale Associate Head Coach Barbara Reinalda will lead the pitching session along with our current players. Coach Reinalda will review the fundamentals of pitching, as well as tips and drills for a variety or pitches.
Outfield Session: Led by Assistant Coach Cheryl Peterson and current players, the outfielders will work on throwing mechanics, angles, backup responsibilities, in addition to other fundamentals of outfield play.
Infield Session: Led by Head Coach Jen Goodwin, along with the current players, the infielders will work on throwing mechanics, ground ball approach, specific infield positioning, in addition to other fundamentals of infield play.
Hitting Session: Head Coach Jen Goodwin will oversee the Hitting Session, along with the coaching staff and current players. In this session Coach Goodwin will review the fundamentals of hitting, plus some advanced drills we use to improve bat speed, power and consistency. We will also cover bunting and slapping for those interested.
