Ivy League Play Kicks Off With Three-Game Series Vs. Penn

Doubleheader Saturday, Single Game Sunday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale kicks off Ivy League play this weekend, hosting a three-game series with Penn at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12:30 p.m. and then a single game on Sunday, also a 12:30 p.m. start. ESPN+ has the video.

The Bulldogs have been swinging the bats well recently, hitting .279 over their last seven games. Overall Carlin Hagmaier leads the team with a .375 average. Annie Tarte (.316) and Sydney Grobman (.303) also are hitting better than .300. Olivia Vinyard has hit two home runs, while Kortney Ponce has a team-best nine RBI.

Yale will likely face Penn pitcher Tabitha Dyer, who has yet to allow an earned run on the season. She has pitched 21.1 innings, has 10 strikeouts and a 3-0 record. Jennifer Brann (3.45, 14 strikeouts) also has had success in the circle. The Quakers are 5-5 on the season. Sarah Cwiertnia leads Penn in average (.400), hits (12) and doubles (4).
