NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Terra Jerpbak had two hits, two RBI and earned the win to lead Yale to a 6-4 victory over Penn on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 6-9 and won the weekend series to start the Ivy season with a 2-1 record.

The Quakers scored three in the first and the Bulldogs answered immediately. In the bottom half, Carlin Hagmaier delivered an RBI single and Jerpbak followed with a two-run double to tie the game.

Penn regained the lead in the second and Yale, again, tied the game in its next at bat.  Sydney Grobman  singled home Olivia Vinyard to tie the game at 4-4.

Vinyard went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. She has at least one hit in eight of her last nine games and leads the team with 12 runs scored.

Giovy Webb led off the third with a single for Yale and moved to second on a sac bunt by Lindsay Kuss. Vinyard singled and Webb advanced to third.

Vinyard broke for second to force a throw and an error to score Webb with the go-ahead run.  Annie Tarte followed with a single to score Vinyard with an insurance run.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday to host a doubleheader against UMass-Lowell.
