KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Peggy Hunt pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn her second victory of the day as Yale blanked Vermont 3-0 at the Rebel Games. Hunt allowed only one hit and struck out three. In the first game, the Bulldogs rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Colorado State 7-6. Freshman Meredith Parks drove home the winning run on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the eighth inning.

"These were two big wins for us," said Yale head coach Andy Van Etten. "We hit the ball really well and the pitching and defense was solid."

Against Colorado State, Kate Meserve and Chelsea Kanyer both went 2 for 4. Yale (4-6) scored six runs in the sixth inning to erase a 5-0 deficit. The big hit was a two-run double by Kristy Kwiatkowski. Meserve and Leah Kelley also had RBI singles in the inning. Colorado State (14-7) scored once in the seventh to tie, but the Bulldogs won it with a run in the eighth. Meserve was placed on second, and Kwiatkowski and Britni Fabacher both walked. Parks then hit a grounder to short, and Meserve beat the throw home to score the winning run.

Against Vermont, Jillian Miles and Hunt combined on a three-hit shutout. Kanyer went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Jessica Meyer and Beth Pavlicek both added two hits. Leading 2-0, the Bulldogs sealed the victory with three runs in the seventh. Pavlicek knocked in two runs with a single, and Parks had a run-scoring single.

The Bulldogs play twice more on Monday, against Dayton at 8:50 a.m. and against Tennessee-Martin at 10:50 a.m.
