NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The fans at Dewitt Family Field got to see two very different games on Sunday. In the opener, Yale and Dartmouth combined for 22 runs and 26 hits as the Big Green came away with a 12-10 victory. In the second game, Deanna DiBernardi was masterful in the circle. She tossed a six-hit shutout as the Bulldogs emerged with a 1-0 win.

Yale (18-22, 7-9 Ivy) scored the only run of the second game in the third inning, and the rally started with two outs when Ashley Sloan reached on a bunt single. Sloan then stole second and scored on Katie Yanagisawa's single to center.

DiBernardi struck out three in holding the high-powered Big Green offense in check for the second straight day to earn her team-leading eighth win of the season. She helped herself in the second inning with some fine defense. After back-to-back singles by Alyssa Parker and Leigha Clarkson, DiBernardi fielded two hard-hit balls back at her.

The Big Green (20-17, 11-5 Ivy) had the tying run on base in the seventh inning, but some fine Yale defense preserved the win. Christy Autin led off with a single but was erased on Kirsten Costello's fielder's choice. Nikki Yee then hit a line drive that shortstop Meg Johnson snared deep in the hole. She then made a long throw to first to double-off Costello, who had ventured too far off the base.

Both teams finished with six hits in the game. Johnson was 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs. Katie Edwards and Chelsey Locarno also had hits.

In the first game, Megan Enyeart went 2-for-5 and knocked in four runs for Yale. Edwards added three hits and Johnson scored three runs.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Enyeart drove home the first run with a double. Mariclaire Rebman followed with an RBI single, and Edwards capped the rally with an RBI double.

After Dartmouth scored once in the top of the second, Yale answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on Johnson's RBI single.

The Big Green, though, scored the next seven runs to take an 8-4 lead. The Bulldogs pulled to within 8-7 on Enyeart's two-run triple and Rebman's sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Alyssa Parker's RBI single capped a three-run fifth inning for the Big Green that made it 11-7. Yale got one back in the bottom of the fifth, but Gleason hit a solo home run in the seventh.

Still, Yale refused to go quietly. In the bottom of the seventh, Johnson knocked in a run with her Ivy League leading fifth triple of the season. She scored on Enyeart's ground out, but that was the end of the scoring.

Kat Hicks pitched 3.1 innings of relief, allowing only one earned run, to earn the victory for Dartmouth. Khalil paced the Big Green's offense. She had three hits, including a homer, and knocked in five.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they play a doubleheader at Wagner. The first pitch of the first game is slated for 3 p.m.
