Huddleston Named Ivy League Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Lauren Huddleston, who leads Yale in batting (.541), hits (20) and runs (12), has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. In 10 games, Huddleston had a .516 average (16-for-31) with 10 runs, a double, triple and a home run. Against Eastern Kentucky, she belted the first home run of her career, a shot over the centerfield fence. In the Bulldogs' victory over Bucknell, she went 2-for-3, drew a walk and scored three runs. Huddleston has at least one hit in all 12 games Yale has played.
Pitcher Rebecca Wojciak was selected to the Honor Roll. She made five appearances and posted a 1.50 earned run average. In 28 innings, she allowed only six earned runs and struck out 21. Against Army, she tossed a complete game shutout, yielding only three hits, while striking out three, and against South Dakota, she struck out seven and allowed only one earned run in six innings.
The Bulldogs (6-6) play a doubleheader at Stony Brook on Wednesday starting at 2 p.m.
