NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yale women's squash team improved to 5-0 with a 2-0 mark in the Ivy League Sunday, topping Columbia 9-0.
In the match, No. 2 Yale dropped only one game en route to a 9-0 victory over the No. 14 Lions. The top three spots were filled by the usual array of juniors Millie Tomlinson and Kim Hay, with senior captain Katie Ballaine playing at No. 3. At No. 4, junior Gwen Tilghman was the only Bulldog to lose so much as a game, but nevertheless won 3-1. At No. 5, sophomore Anna Harrison played at a higher spot than usual, as did freshman Annie Ballaine at No. 6. Fellow freshman Georgia Blatchford was at no. 7, while junior Coco Siebert played at No. 8. At No. 9, senior Carolyn Brown rounded out the scoring players, but sophomore Nina Kempner also grabbed a 3-0 win, playing in the No. 10 spot.
The Bulldogs will be back in action Friday against No. 7 Stanford and No. 12 George Washington, and will resume Ivy League play against Princeton February 2nd.
