NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Last week, the members of Yale's women's squash team elected Anna Harrison to serve as team captain for the 2014-2015 season.
Harrison came to Yale from national powerhouse Greenwich Academy in Connecticut. In her three years at Yale she has been a consistent force in the bottom third of the lineup. This year, she finished the season with a 10-1 record.
Coach Dave Talbott praised the decision.
"Anna Harrison is an excellent choice to captain next year's Yale women's squash team. Anna has a great deal of experience after an extensive junior career, and she was a critical part of a Greenwich Academy team that won multiple national high school championships during her four years as a member of that team" said Talbott.
Talbott also noted that Harrison's experience and skill set will be valuable for a team graduating four seniors: captain Lilly Fast, Academic All-Ivy selection Gwen Tilghman and All-Americans Kim Hay and Millie Tomlinson.
Joining Harrison as seniors will be second team All-Americans Shihui Mao and Issey Norman-Ross. While the team consistently sets high expectations for itself, Talbott believes Harrison will fill the leadership role very well.
"Anna's character and personality will be good fit to captain next year's team."
