Bulldogs Top Big Red 7-2

ITHACA, NY - The Bulldogs improved to 6-1 this season with a 7-2 win over the Big Red Saturday in Ithaca. Yale won at matches No. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9.
Playing No. 1, sophomore Logan Greer cruised to a 9-6, 9-4, 9-0 win over opponent Rebecca Hazell. Sophomore Sarah Toomey rolled to a 9-0, 9-4, 9-7 win over Jenn Gemmell at No. 2. Freshman Rhetta Nadas continued her strong play this season for the Bulldogs with a 9-0, 9-3, 9-5 win over Liaza Stokes at No. 4.
Playing No. 5, sophomore Caroline Reigeluth dropped her first game but then squeezed out the next three 10-8, 10-8, 9-7 to defeat opponent Alex Cornett. Senior Tara Wadhwa also dropped the first game 9-3, but then battled back to win the next three games 9-4, 9-5, 9-4 over opponent Rachel Wagner at No. 7.
Freshman Alexandra Kerr won 9-4, 9-1, 10-8 at No. 8 over Allie Ritter. Playing No. 9, junior Katherine Ettinger pulled out a 9-7, 8-10, 5-9, 9-0, 9-7 win over Claire Berner.
Yale will face Trinity Wednesday in Hartford.
