Tigers Down Bulldogs, 6-3

Feb. 2, 2008

PRINCETON, N.J. - Yale dropped a 6-3 decision to Princeton on Saturday in New Jersey, ending an eight-match win streak. Miranda Ranieri, Logan Greer, and Sarah Toomey all earned wins in the defeat.

Indeed, the Bulldogs dominated the Tigers at the top of the ladder. No. 1 Ranieri downed Amanda Siebert, 3-0 (9-7, 10-8, 9-6), No. 2 Greer beat Neha Kumar, 3-0 (9-3, 10-9, 9-1), and No. 3 Sarah Toomey defeated Jackie Moss, 3-0 (9-4, 9-6, 9-5).

Princeton's deep lineup, however, would prove too much for Yale. No. 4 Alia Aziz and No. 5 Caroline Reigeluth both battled their opponents to five-game epics, but ultimately fell. No. 9 Tara Wadhwa provided some hope when she jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Margaret Kent, but Wadhwa eventually dropped the last three games and the match.

The Bulldogs will be back in action next Saturday, when they look to get over .500 in Ivy League play against Brown in Providence.
