NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 5 Yale will look to complete its regular season with a 10-3 record when it travels to Cambridge to take on No. 4 Harvard Wednesday. Video of the match can be seen live at www.gocrimson.com.
Last weekend, Yale defeated Brown 9-0 to improve to 3-2 in the Ivy League this season. Previous to the victory over Brown, the Bulldogs lost to Princeton the weekend before. Yale's other two losses this season have come in heartbreaking 5-4 losses to Trinity and Penn.
Harvard is 7-1 this season with victories over both Trinity College and Penn in the last week. Last Wednesday, Harvard hosted Trinity College and won the match 7-2. The Crimson then traveled to Philadelphia and defeated Penn 7-2 Saturday. Harvard lost its first match of the season Sunday when it lost 5-4 to undefeated Princeton.
In their only match up against Harvard last season, the Bulldogs pulled out a 6-3 victory in the regular season finale at home. Miranda Ranieri, Logan Greer, Sarah Toomey, Alia Aziz, Jessica Balderston, and Elisabeth Hill won matches at No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9, respectively for Yale in the win.
Ivy League Scrimmage
The Bulldogs finished in fourth place at this year's Ivy League Scrimmage. After defeating Brown 9-0 in their opening match, the Bulldogs dropped their second round match to Penn 5-4. In its final match of the Scrimmage, Yale dropped a 5-4 decision to Princeton.
