Yale to Start Season with Ivy Scrimmage

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs will kick of their season with the Ivy League Scrimmage Saturday and Sunday at the Brady Squash Center. Yale will face Brown in its first match Saturday at 12:45 p.m.

After finishing third in the Ivy League last season, Yale will look to improve upon those results this year. The Bulldogs add five freshmen to the ten returning players from last year's team.

Yale finished in third place last season at the Howe Cup behind Howe Cup champion Princeton and runner-up Penn.

Yale graduated last year's CSA National Individual Title Champion Miranda Ranieri, but come in with a senior class led by captain Tara Wadhwa and Jessica Balderston.

The junior class is led by Alia Aziz, who has started every year she has played for Yale.

The Bulldogs return an especially strong sophomore class with Logan Greer, Caroline Reigeluth, Sarah Toomey and Anna Doud.

Yale welcomes a strong and deep freshmen class with Gabrielle Jenn, Alexandra Kerr, Kelly Mulrow, Rhetta Nadas, and Alexandra Van Arkel.

Head Coach Dave Talbott enters his 26th year with the team. Associate head coach Gareth Webber and assistant coach Pam Saunders will help Talbott lead the squad.

The winner of the Yale-Brown match will meet the winner of the Cornell-Penn match Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

After the Ivy Scrimmage this weekend, Yale will officially open its season on December 6 by playing host to defending Ivy League champion Penn.
