NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team will travel to Providence, R.I., on Saturday to face Brown in its final meet of the regular season.  The Bulldogs will try to carry their momentum from HYP's into their meet with the Bears.

Yale faced Brown in New Haven last season, defeating the Bears by a score of 173-127.  The Bulldogs had a very strong meet, setting a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle relay and receiving strong performances from sophomores Eva Fabian and Casey Lincoln, who went 1-2 in the 1000-yard freestyle, and sophomore Emily Gudbranson who finished third in the 200-yard freestyle.

The matchup with the Bears will be Yale's final test before the taper for Ivy League Championships.  Having faced six Ivy League teams in the last month, the Bulldogs should have a good sense of where they stand heading into championship season.

Last weekend's HYP meet gave some indication of the team's current speed.  While Yale suffered defeats to both rivals, the Bulldogs certainly showed themselves to be capable of making noise at the Ivy League meet.  Fabian finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle and was a close second in the 500-.  Freshman diver Lilybet MacRae was superb in the one-meter diving competition, finishing in first by an impressive 30-point margin.  Freshman Kina Zhou won the 200-yard IM and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle.

Saturday's meet offers one last chance for Yale to test itself in a competition environment before the all-important Ivy League Championship meet.  Racing is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
