NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale sophomore swimmer Eva Fabian has been officially invited to the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. She will swim the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle events.
Eva is coming off of an impressive sophomore season in which she dominated the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events during the regular season meets. In the Ivy League Championship meet, Fabian finished first in the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle events and finished second in the 1,000-yard free. She received All-Ivy First Team honors in the 500 and 1,650 and was named All-Ivy Second Team in the 1,000. This past July, Fabian won a bronze medal for the USA at the FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships held in Barcelona in the 25-kilometer open water swim.
This is the second year in a row that Fabian will compete in the 1,650-yard free. At last season's meet, she finished 23rd out of 41 swimmers with a time of 16:13.94.
This season's NCAA meet takes place in Minneapolis, Minn., from Mar. 20 to Mar. 22. Fabian will swim the 500-yard freestyle on Mar. 20 and will compete in the 1,650 on Mar. 22.
