NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Yale women's swimming and diving team was honored as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America on July 9. The award recognizes the Bulldogs for maintaining one of the highest collective grade point averages in the nation during the 2014 spring semester.
The Team Scholar All America Award is given to college swimming and diving teams who have maintained team GPAs above 3.0. The awards are given out twice each year, for the fall semester and again for the spring semester. The Yale women's team also received the award for the fall 2013 semester.
Yale's team GPA of 3.50 was 19th highest among NCAA Division I teams, and the highest among the eight Ivy League programs. Kentucky led the nation with a 3.72 GPA.
