After being delayed two days because of the winter storm the Yale women’s swimming and diving team finally squared off against Brown on Monday night, and the Bulldogs made it worth the wait. Yale defeated Brown 173-127 and set a pool record in the process. The meet was celebrated as senior night, as divers Megan Harada and Paige Meneses, along with swimmers Molly Albrecht, Alexandra Forrester, Victoria Lawrence, Cynthia Tsay and captain Joan Weaver had their last meet at home in Kiphuth Pool. When all was said and done Yale won 12 out of 16 events, eight of which were individual wins by the members of the class of 2013. Over the weekend Princeton lost to Columbia so the Bulldogs finish tied for second in the conference heading into the Ivy League Championships.

Battle of the Unbeatens at HYP

This weekend the Yale women’s swimming and diving team will place its undefeated Ivy League record on the line at the annual tri-meet against Harvard and Princeton. The Bulldogs are 4-0 in dual meets this season with wins again Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn, but the Crimson and the Tigers are unbeaten in the conference as well. As Yale’s last away meet before Ivy’s, which will also be hosted by Princeton, this meet will be a good benchmark for Yale’s swimmers and divers to look back to in four weeks when all eight teams convene in Princeton for the Ivy League Championships.

She has been an integral part of the team which sports a 4-0 dual meet record against four Ivy League opponents so far and a first-place finish at Boston University’s Terrier Invitational last November. But come Sunday Fabian will take a break from representing her university and instead represent her country. This weekend Fabian will compete as an American entry in the first race on the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup Circuit in Santos, Brazil.
