High School: Emily lettered all four years in swimming at New Trier High School. In 2007, she captained her team to a second place finish at the State Championships. Individually, Emily was a four year All-American. In 2005 and 2007, she was the State Champion in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events. This past year Emily attended the Olympic trials where she placed 111th in the 100-meter backstroke and 86th in the 50-meter freestyle. Academically, Emily was a scholar-athlete and on the honor roll. Personal: Emily is in Silliman College. She is intending to major in architecture. In her free time, she enjoys music and reading. During the summers, she was a lifeguard. Her father Matt attended Trinity College in Connecticut, while her mother Lolly attended Duke. Emily has three siblings Matthew, Melanie and Michael. Matthew was a four year varsity swimmer at Wooster, and Melanie attends SLU and is expected to graduate in 2009. Michael is a senior in High School and swims for New Trier.
