Stephenson Stars as Yale Beats Maine 161-139

Orono, Maine - Caroline Stephenson won three individual events and one relay event to help Yale to a 161-139 win at Maine Sunday afternoon. Stephenson won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.06), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.86) and the 200-yard IM (2:09.19) in addition to being a part of Yale's victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:43.56) with Holly Mazar, Rachel Shipp and Nicole Swaney. Swaney won two individual events herself, taking the 1000-yard freestyle (10:34.11) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.62). Alexandra Jones also won two events, the one-meter (228.60) and three-meter (238.70) diving.
Other winners for Yale were Laura Aronsson in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.40) and Shipp in the 50-yard freestyle (26.21).
Yale returns to action Saturday at Navy with Cornell.
