Bulldogs Hold On To Fifth In ECACs

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Yale women's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the ECAC Championships with a final score of 301 points. On the last day of competition, the Bulldogs finished in the top five in three events.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, the first event on the day, Cole finished fifth with a time of 17:42.53, adding 14 points to Yale's total. This was Cole's third top five finish in an individual event this weekend.
Later in the day, it was Person's turn. She came in fifth place in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 53.65. This followed her second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday.
The Bulldogs also had another impressive freshman performance from Aidan McKinlay. McKinlay qualified for the final of the 200-yard butterfly, where she finished seventh in a time of 2:09.05, shaving one and a half seconds off of her time in the preliminary heat.
After ending the first day of competition in fifth, the Bulldogs held that spot on the leaderboard throughout the championship. They managed to stave off sixth-place New Hampshire, who finished just four points behind them.
