Yale in Ninth After Day One at ECACs

Pittsburgh, PA - The Bulldogs started off their weekend at the ECAC Championships with a 59-point day to jump into 9th place in the annual competition in Pittsburgh, PA Friday.

The Yale 200-yard freestyle relay team earned 26 points for the Bulldogs with a sixth place finish. Freshman Kristin Darwin, senior Katelyn Kane, senior Nicole Swaney, and freshman Angela Yu combined for a time of 1:39.81 for the sixth place finish.

In the 200-yard IM, Darwin took 10th place for Yale with a time of 2:11.24 to earn Yale 7 points.

The Bulldogs concluded their day in the 400-medley relay with a sixth place finish to earn the team another 26 points. Freshman Leslie Roberson, Darwin, Kane, and Yu combined for a time of 4:04.38 in the race.

The competition will continue Saturday with the 200-medley relay, 400-IM, 100-fly, 200-free, 100-breast, 100-back, and the 800-free relay.
