Yale Completes Competition at Omaha Swimvitational

OMAHA, Nebr. - Six Bulldogs competed at the Omaha Swimvitational this past Thursday to Sunday. Held at the site of the Olympic Trials, the Omaha Swimvitational was the final tune-up for the Olympic Trials.

Alex Righi placed eighth in the 100-meter freestyle. After qualifying for the finals with a preliminary time of 50.23, Righi took eighth place with a time of 49.99.

Righi finished in 10th in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.20. Also competing in the 100-meter backstroke, Thomas Robinson placed 35th with a time of 59.80.

Chris Pool had an impressive showing in the 200-meter butterfly with a 12th place finish in a time of 2:05.37. Pool finished 77th in the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 24.53.

In the 200-meter backstroke, Dennen McCloskey finished 14th with a time of 2:08.70. Robinson placed 35th in the event with a time of 2:15.97.

McCloskey also found success in the 400-meter individual medley with a 13th place finish in a time of 4:35.65. In the 400-meter freestyle McCloskey took 29th with a time of 4:06.74.

In the 100-meter butterfly, Righi grabbed 24th with a time of 56.18.

On the girl's side, Marilee Kiernan finished 36th in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:14.72. Kiernan also placed 38th in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:43.92.

Andrea Clifford competed in the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter freestyle, and the 100-meter fly. In the 50-meter freestyle, she placed 72nd with a time of 27.37. Clifford finished 79th in the 100-meter fly in a time of 1:05.20. In the 100-meter freestyle, Clifford took 97th in a time of 1:00.25.
