The All-Ivy Women's Swimming and Diving teams were announced today and included two Yale swimmers. Moira McCloskey and Meg Gill both made the teams created from the first and second place finishers at the Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships, held last weekend at Harvard's Blodgett Pool.
McCloskey was named to the All-Ivy First Team for her winning the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke at the Ivy Championship. She is one of only five swimmers from around the Ivy League to be awarded All-Ivy First Team honors in two individual events, confirming her status as one of the Ivy League's most dominant swimmers.
Gill was honored as a member of the All-Ivy Second Team after recording one of Yale's top finishes at the Ivy Championship. Gill came second in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing just two hundredths of a second behind Brown's Eileen Robinson. Robinson would finish the weekend as the best individual swimmer of the championship meet.
