NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale has been named among the top academic women's swimming teams in the nation this year by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The Bulldogs recorded a 3.49 GPA which was the 6th best in Division I college swimming.
The improved GPA, up from a 3.42 last year, moved this year's team up three spots in the standing from their 9th place in 2005-2006.
Head coach Frank Keefe's squad enjoyed another successful season in 2006-07. The Bulldogs finished with a 8-2 overall record as well as finishing third in the Ivy League Championship. Yale was one of two Ivy League schools ranked in the Top 10 and one of only four Ivy schools reporting a team GPA of over 3.0.
