Brook and Kent Finish Second in ITA Regionals
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The doubles team of sophomores Vicky Brook and Stephanie Kent finished second Tuesday in the doubles draw of the Wilson / ITA Northeast Regional Championships at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale University.
The duo won five matches in the tournament before falling in the finals by a score of 8-2 to the No. 2 seeded Bianca Aboubakare and Casey Herzberg of Brown.
Brook and Kent began the tournament with an 8-2 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson’s Ksenia Chernyshova and Jessica DeCarlos Saturday. The duo then rolled to an 8-2 win over Harvard’s Samantha Gridley and Alexandra Lehman.
In the round of 16, Brook and Kent defeated the No. 9 seeded Emily Harman and Christina Tan of Syracuse 8-5. They then pulled out an 8-6 win over No. 4 seeded Denise Harajanto and Diana Popescu of Buffalo in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the duo topped No. 1 seed Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable of Princeton.

Yale will be in action between Nov. 5 and 8 at the Wilson / ITA Nationals also hosted at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Yale will receive two automatic singles bids into the 32-player bracket and one automatic doubles bid into the 16-team bracket.
