Bulldogs Finish Tournament Undefeated in Doubles Play
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Yale completed play at the Maryland Invite with a perfect doubles record in the tournament Sunday at the University of Maryland.
Freshman Elizabeth Epstein and sophomore Stephanie Kent completed their Yale debut with a 3-0 record in the tournament. The duo won 8-4 Sunday.
The doubles team of freshman Jenna Ritz and junior Stevi Petrelli also finished the tournament with a 3-0 doubles record. They won their sunday match 8-4 as well.
Petrelli, Kent and Epstein all won consolation singles matches Sunday as well. Petrelli won 7-5, 6-2. Kent defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3. Epstein rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory against the other semifinalist in the tournament to claim third place in the Flight 'A' Singles Draw. Epstein's lone loss in the tournament came to the tournament's eventual champion.
