NEW HAVEN, Conn. – No. 36 Yale improved to 9-1 on the season and extended its home winning streak to 23 straight matches with a 5-2 victory over No. 32 William & Mary Saturday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. 

The Bulldogs won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.  Playing No. 1 doubles, the duo of sophomore Vicky Brook and junior Lindsay Clark rolled to an 8-3 win over Ragini Acharya and Lauren Sabacinski.  At the No. 2 doubles spot, sophomore Stephanie Kent and senior Jessica Rhee won 8-6 over Carmen Pop and Anik Cepeda. 

Yale won four of six singles matches to clinch the victory.  Brook continued her dominance at the No. 2 singles spot with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Nina Voluovich.  Clark rolled to a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Cepeda. 

After the Bulldogs dropped three set matches at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, senior Jessica Rhee clinched the victory for Yale with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win at No 3 singles over Marlen Mesgarzadeh.  Freshman Elizabeth Epstein finished shortly thereafter at No. 5 singles with a 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-2 win over Sabacinski.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Sunday as they try to extend their home winning streak to 24 straight when they take on No. 20 Vanderbilt.
