Yale Completes Play at Georgia Tech Invitational

New Haven, Conn. – The Bulldogs completed their first tournament of the fall season at the Georgia Tech Invitational, playing Oklahoma State in singles and Georgia in doubles on Sunday.

In Flight 1 action, freshman Blaire Seideman defeated C.C. Sardinha 6-1, 6-3.  In Flight 2, sophomore Elizabeth Epstein beat Natalya Shatkovskaya 7-5, 6-1.  Freshman Kim Szokol also won, defeating Kanyapat Narattana 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in Flight 3.

In Flight 4, freshman Annie Sullivan lost to Sasha Belova 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, while in Flight 5 senior Lindsay Clark lost to Sarah Meghoufel 7-6, 6-0.  In Flight 6, senior Stevi Petrelli was bested 6-0, 6-1 by Alisa Buslaieva.

In doubles play versus Georgia, Yale's Flight 1 duo of Vicky Brook and Clark was defeated 8-2 by Gilchrist/Kimbell.  In Flight 2, Epstein and Szokol lost 8-6 to Anghelescu/Kowase.  In Flight 3, Seideman and Stephanie Kent combined for an 8-6 victory over Fuller/Jerjomina.  In Flight 4, Sullivan and Petrelli beat Ellis/Hart 8-4. 

The Bulldogs will next play on Oct. 2 in Los Angeles during All-American Prequalifying.
