New Haven, Conn. – The No. 47 Yale women's tennis team will resume its season this weekend after a two-month long hiatus from match play. The Bulldogs will host Boston College (Saturday at 12p.m.) and Boston University (Sunday at 1p.m.) at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale.
The fall season was mostly composed of individual tournaments, in which the Bulldogs excelled. Doubles team junior Vicky Brook and senior Lindsay Clark had an amazing run at the 2010 USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships, reaching the quarterfinals. The duo (seeded No. 2) was the first Yale doubles team to qualify for the Indoor Championships, and earned their spot in the tournament by defeating the No. 1-seeded Princeton team of Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable in the 2010 USTA/ITA Regional Championships.
The Bulldogs also had a spectacular showing at the only team matchup of the fall season, in which they blanked Buffalo 7-0. This portends well for Yale's spring season, which is mostly team competition.
Yale posted a strong showing against Boston College and Boston University last season, beating both teams by a 5-2 score.
