Bulldogs Rise to No. 28 in Rankings, Host Stony Brook and Army

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After breezing by Columbia, Harvard and Princeton to capture the ECAC Division I Title for the third consecutive year, the No. 28 Yale Women's Tennis team (9-2) will host Stony Brook (5-2) and Army (10-2) this week. The Bulldogs will compete against Stony Brook on Sunday at 3p.m., and Army on Wednesday at 12p.m. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

A Look Back

Yale jumped six spots in the ITA rankings this week to No. 28, the highest ranking in the Ivy League. Last season, Yale achieved a ranking of No. 24, which marked its highest ranking ever. Yale's two losses of this season have come from two highly ranked teams: No. 14 Notre Dame and No. 10 Vanderbilt.

Scouting the Competition

Last weekend, Stony Brook fell 6-1 against No. 53 Brown to end its four-match winning streak over Penn, Saint Joseph's, Connecticut, and Army. However, Stony Brook has not faced a competitor as highly ranked as Yale thus far this season. Army is in the midst of a seven-match winning streak, but has three matches to play before it arrives at Yale on Wednesday. Army will play Quinnipiac on Friday and NJIT and Providence on Saturday. Army's match in New Haven will be its first away match of the season.
