No. 28 Yale to Compete Against Quinnipiac and Fairleigh Dickinson in Doubleheader Sunday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – This Sunday, the No. 28 Yale women's tennis team will compete against the unranked Quinnipiac and Fairleigh Dickinson squads at home at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in a doubleheader before the Ivy League season begins next weekend.

The matches will take place at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively, and should serve as a good challenge to work out the remaining kinks before the Bulldogs begin what promises to be a competitive Ivy League season.  Yale has the current ranking heading into Ivy League play, but Brown is close behind at No. 40, and traditional rivals No. 53 Harvard and No. 55 Princeton aren't far out.

The Quinnipiac match will come first, at the relatively early hour of 10 a.m., and feature a quick turnaround before the Fairleigh Dickinson match that will challenge the conditioning and recovery speed of the Yale squad.  While neither squad is ranked, they still will represent a strong challenge, especially should they gear themselves up for a potential upset against the strong Yale squad.

The match will also feature a collection by the team for the Connecticut Food Bank and Stepping Stone Emergency Housing charities.  Fans are encouraged to turn out not only to support the team, but also the New Haven community with clothing and food donations.  More specifics on what to bring can be found here.
