Yale Finishes Final Day of USTA Invitational With 4-2 Record in Singles
NEW YORK – Monday, the Yale women's tennis team concluded its weekend at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center by splitting four singles matches.
With all three Yale doubles teams in competition eliminated from victory and having already completed three matches, only singles matches were played.
In the fourth draw, both senior captain Steph Kent and sophomore Annie Sullivan won their matches decisively in the semifinals. The two faced off in the finals, with Sullivan emerging victorious by a score of 6-2; 6-2.
In the third draw, freshman Amber Li was unable to conquer Boston College's Jess Wasnik, dropping her match 6-3; 6-4 in the finals. Li finished the weekend with a 3-1 record.
Overall, the team had a 16-8 record in singles and finished 6-3 in doubles, with all three teams in competition garnering two victories.
