Kent and Guzick Sweep Singles at Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, NH – Friday, the Yale women's tennis team sent two players to the Dartmouth Invitational, and finished Day One undefeated in singles. 

The Yale players joined with Dartmouth to play as one team in the tournament, which is in the format of a normal dual match.  The mixed squad took on UMass on Friday.

In singles, senior captain Steph Kent played in the No. 2 spot and beat UMass' Sonia Bokhari by a score of 7-5; 6-1.  Junior Sarah Guzick played at No. 7 and knocked off her opponent 6-1; 6-1. 

The two Yale girls also played together in doubles, working in the No. 1 spot.  They dropped their match by a close score of 8-6 against a UMass pair of Chantal Swiszcz and Yuliana Motyl. 

The Yale/Dartmouth mixed squad won the match 3-1 in doubles and 6-1 in singles to take the match.  The other teams participating in the tournament are Saint Johns and Boston University.  As the tournament continues on Saturday and Sunday, the Yale/Dartmouth team will have an opportunity to play each opponent.
