FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 25 Yale women's tennis team knocked off No. 31 Oklahoma 6-1 Saturday, dominating the Sooners in both singles and doubles.
Yale swept the three doubles matches, starting with the No. 16 pairing of freshman Hanna Yu and senior Vicky Brook. They topped the No. 22 ranked Marie-Pier Huet and Whitney Richie 8-4. At No. 2, junior Elizabeth Epstein and sophomore Annie Sullivan won their match 8-1. The No. 39 ranked duo of senior captain Steph Kent and sophomore Blair Seideman finished off the sweep with an 8-4 win.
In singles, the team won at every spot except for No. 2. Epstein led off at No. 1 with a 6-0, 3-6, 10-5 win over Huet. Seideman fell in the second spot in straight sets to Ritchie.
Yu played in the No. 3 spot for the first time and won her match 6-4, 6-4 over Mia Lancaster. At No. 4, Sullivan won her match in straight sets, and Kent did the same at No. 5. At No. 6, freshman Amber Li won her match 7-6 (2), 6-4 over Whitney Wofford.
Sunday, Yale will face No. 32 Arkansas, again in Fayetteville.
