NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Starting Friday, the five Yale women's tennis players that have not yet begun their seasons will head to Penn to play in the Cissie Leary Tournament.

The tournament will be hosted by Penn, and features competition from a number of regional schools, including Ivy League competitors Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and, of course, Penn.  Of the weekend's competitors, Yale finished last season with by far the highest ranking, at No. 29.  The next closest was Penn State, which finished at No. 51.  No other teams were ranked.

However, Yale's elevated ranking will not help the team much, as the players travelling do not include senior captain Elizabeth Epstein or junior Blair Seideman, not to mention freshmen Madeleine Hamilton and Ree Ree Li

The players that are travelling, though, are more than capable of making a large impression.  Freshman Courtney Amos, the third member of the nation's eighth ranked recruiting class, will make her college debut.

Amos will be joined by sophomores Hanna Yu and Amber Li, both looking to improve on strong freshman campaigns.

Junior Annie Sullivan and senior Sarah Guzick will represent the upperclassman contingent of the team.
