No. 28 Bulldogs to Host Delaware State
Women's Tennis Opens Season at Home
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale women's tennis team will take on Delaware State this Sunday in the first match of the spring season. The Bulldogs return to action after a fall campaign highlighted by individual and team success, particularly at the ITA All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif., where three singles players (senior captain Elizabeth Epstein, junior Blair Seideman and sophomore Hanna Yu) and one doubles pair (Epstein and junior Annie Sullivan) reached the qualifying stage.
The match will be the first of the season for visitors Delaware State, as well. The Hornets compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and compiled a 14-4 record last spring, losing to Howard University in the MEAC Tournament semifinals. They are not nationally ranked.
The Bulldogs went 20-4 last spring and won the Ivy League. They reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and are currently ranked No. 28.
The match will be held at 11 a.m. in the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
