No. 41 Bulldogs Take Down Tigers
Sullivan Extends Winning Streak
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 41-ranked Yale women's tennis team (12-2, 1-0 Ivy) opened its Ivy season with a 5-2 win Friday over Princeton (9-5, 1-1). The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point before going on to win four of six singles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, senior captain Elizabeth Epstein and junior Annie Sullivan earned their third win in a row, handing Monica Chow and Lindsay Graff an 8-3 loss. Freshman Madeleine Hamilton and sophomore Amber Li defeated Joan Cannon and Katie Goepel at No. 2 to give the Bulldogs the edge at doubles.
In the singles game, Hamilton claimed her second win at No. 2, edging Katherine Flanigan after dropping the first set. Sullivan extended her winning streak to 13 with a victory over Katie Goepel at No. 3. Sophomore Hanna Yu and freshman Courtney Amos helped Yale clinch the win with their wins at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
The Bulldogs will continue down the road Saturday to take on Penn. That match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
