Senior captain Annie Sullivan won three matches at singles and, with partner sophomore Madeleine Hamilton, three matches at doubles to reach the quarterfinals of both brackets.

With day two of the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals completed, two of Yale's three doubles pairs remain in contention. The No. 16 seeded pair, sophomore Madeleine Hamilton and senior captain Annie Sullivan, and the No. 8 seeded pair, sophomore Ree Ree Li and freshman Sherry Li, each won two matches to advance to the round of 16.

DeSanto Joins Yale Staff
Justin DeSanto, who spent the past year helping Marywood University to its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship and automatic NCAA Tournament berth in the past 10 years, has joined the Yale women’s tennis staff. DeSanto will serve as the volunteer assistant under Danielle McNamara, Yale’s Swensen-McMahon Head Coach of Women’s Tennis.

Yale Looks to Defend Ivy League Title Against a Busy Schedule
A new season and new challenges await a Yale women's tennis team fresh off a third straight Ivy League Championship. These challenges will come early and often, as the Bulldogs are scheduled to participate in a slew of high-profile events starting in the fall. As for the regular season in the spring, fitness and endurance may be the theme, as the Bulldogs are scheduled to play up to 27 matches over a 14-week span. As always, however, the defending Ivy League champions will aim to rise to these challenges and reach for victory yet again.

Wimbledon Champ, Runner-Up Coming to New Haven
Wimbledon Champion and World No. 7 Marion Bartoli and Wimbledon Finalist and World No. 18 Sabine Lisicki join four additional top 10 players in the field for the 2013 New Haven Open at Yale presented by First Niagara, a WTA event that is part of the Emirates Airline US Open Series to be held August 16-24, 2013 at the Connecticut Tennis Center, it was announced today by Tournament Director Anne Worcester.

Incoming Freshman Class Ranked 24th in the Nation
On the heels of a season that included a third straight Ivy League title and a third straight NCAA tournament appearance, among other achievements, the Yale women's tennis team is saying farewell to a pair of valuable players in Elizabeth Epstein '13 and Sarah Guzick '13. Fortunately, however, the talent of the two incoming freshmen in the class of 2017 bodes well for the continued success of the team in the upcoming season.

ITA Kick-Off Weekend Matchups Announced; Bulldogs Face Tulsa at Michigan
The matchups for the 2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend were announced June 5, and the Yale women's tennis team will face Tulsa in the first round at the University of Michigan. The Bulldogs are the No. 3 seed for that site, while Tulsa is the No. 2 seed. Michigan, the No. 1 seed, will play No. 4 seed Virginia Tech in the other tournament match at that site.
