No. 36 Women's Tennis Falls to No. 21 Texas Tech on Day One of Blue Gray Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —Friday the No. 36-ranked Yale women's tennis team (2-3, 0-0 Ivy) fell 4-1 to No. 21 Texas Tech on the first day of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic. The Raiders took an early lead, claiming with doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions. Sophomore Courtney Amos and senior captain Annie Sullivan earned a win at No. 3.

At singles, sophomore Madeleine Hamilton had the only victory, taking the point at No. 1 7-6, 6-2.

The Bulldogs will play No. 42 Illinois in the consolation bracket, while the Raiders will move onto the semifinals, where they face the tournament host, No. 14 Alabama. Yale's Saturday match is slated for 4:00 p.m. CST.
