NEW HAVEN, Conn. —The No. 47-ranked Yale women's tennis team (13-8, 5-1 Ivy) will host Brown Saturday to close out the regular season. The match will be senior captain Annie Sullivan's last on Yale's courts.
Sullivan, the only senior on this year's team, has gone undefeated in Ivy League play at the No. 3 singles position. Last spring as a junior she recorded a 19-1 singles record in the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 positions and was named second team All-Ivy for her achievements. An excellent doubles player as well, she has earned second team All-Ivy honors at doubles in each of her three seasons for the Bulldogs.
Under Sullivan's leadership, the Bulldogs have put on a strong Ivy campaign this season. Sophomore Hanna Yu has transitioned to No. 1 singles, where she is undefeated in four matches. After opening the Ivy play with a loss, the team has rallied to second place, winning its last five matches.
Brown (13-9, 2-4 Ivy) sits at sixth in the Ivy League and is on a two-match losing streak. The Bears have wins over Penn and Cornell but have struggled on the road, where they are 4-6 this season.
Saturday's match will take place at the Yale Tennis Center at 12:00 p.m.
