Finke Extends Winning Streak

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by Boston College in the Bulldogs' second match of the season. Despite the loss, junior Carol Finke won at singles and doubles to extend her winning streak to four matches.

Finke and fellow junior Elizabeth Zordani teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Kylie Wilcox and Dasha Possokhova 6-4. Although Finke and Zordani were victorious, BC took the doubles point after claiming the other two doubles matches.

Playing at No. 1 singles, Finke bounced back from a first-set loss to overcome No. 103 Asiya Dair 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8). Finke's victory marks the second time in two matches this season that she has defeated a nationally ranked player.

Yale's second point came from sophomore Amy Yang's 6-4, 6-1 win against Emily Safron.

The Bulldogs will return to the courts on Friday, Feb. 3 at 5:00 p.m. in a match against Wake Forest.
