Yale Falls to St. John's

 

Lynch, Yang and Zordani Pick up Wins

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by St. John's on Sunday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

At No. 3 singles, sophomore Amy Yang won a point for the Bulldogs after overcoming Zofia Stanisz 6-4, 6-4. Junior Elizabeth Zordani swept past Stephanie Elgegren 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot to add another point to Yale's score.

Zordani was a two-time winner on Sunday. Although Yale conceded the doubles point, she and senior Caroline Lynch defeated Stanisz and Delia Arranz 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

The Bulldogs will now look forward to hosting the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. The tournament will start on Friday, Feb. 10.
