Yale Falls to Loyola Marymount 4-3

Five Yale Players Pick up Victories

LOS ANGELES – The Yale women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Loyola Marymount on Wednesday at the LMU Tennis Center.

LMU won the first point of the day in a victory at No. 1 doubles. Yale then leveled the score to 1-1 after senior captain Tina Jiang and freshman Opala Dhingra defeated Julia Norlin and Camila Turmosa 6-2 on court 3. LMU took the doubles point after winning the No. 2 match.

Playing at No. 2 singles, sophomore Amy Yang came back from a first-set loss to overcome Anderson 4-6, 6-3, 7-6. Senior Caroline Lynch also played a three-set match, winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 against Norlin at No. 6 singles. In the No. 4 spot, junior Valerie Shklover comfortably defeated Anna Romeka 6-2, 6-4. Lynch and Shklover have now won two straight matches each in the spring tour.

Yale will return to the courts for the final match of the tour, competing against Long Beach State on Friday, Mar. 17 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time.
